Dierks Bentley is very passionate and very attached to certain items in his life that have a lot of meaning behind them. For example, he talks about not getting rid of his old car because it reminds him of the times he drove around with his dad; he also sings about his “old beat up box”, which is referring to his first guitar. He explains that although it looks insignificant to us, he doesn’t buy a new one because he values the time that he spent playing it. Dierks Bentley is very sentimental and, particularly in this song, he comes off as kind of defensive over the things he loves. Similarly, I believe that I am also very sentimental because I always try to cherish good memories with my friends and family members. All the good times I have experienced play an important role in my life because they have shaped me into who I am. Throughout our lives, I have come to realize that we can’t stop the things in our lives from changing. However, the memories we have gained over these years can never be taken away from us. Throughout the rest of my life, I truly hope that I will never take the memories I make for granted.
So true Megan, so true
