Matt Lorenz - Elton John

 Elton John- Ever since I was 5 years old, Elton John has been playing in my Dad’s car every time I got in it. Little by little I began memorizing his songs. By the time I was about 9, I began understanding the lyrics, and I realized how much Elton John had affected not only my Dad’s life, but mine also. In the countless hours spent in the car, my Dad and I bonded over his songs. Some of my favorite songs include Rocket Man, Piano Man, and Tiny Dancer.  As the years passed, Elton John has inspired me to listen to other artists like him, such as Kenny Loggins. Another way Elton John has inspired me is through the piano. Ever since I heard the song Piano Man, I’ve learned a few songs on the piano by Elton John. That love for playing the piano has continued over the years and I still play piano today.
