Andie Kunz- Just Breathe

Just Breathe
Just Breathe: This is one of my favorite songs by Pearl Jam because you can put so many meanings to this song without actually knowing the meaning to it. Ed wrote the song one night at home, after putting the kids to bed, he was lying next to his wife and they didn't talk and just tried to enjoy the moment they had alone and to feel each other's presence, to listen to each other breathing. Ed said there is a line in this song about sacrifice. He also dedicated the song numerous times in Australia to moms who often sacrifice a lot, putting their children first. And that they should be appreciated. Music is deeply personal and anyway you interpret it is the right way. Ed would like that the song has different meanings to different people. I think it says cherish what you've got while you have it. I think that the audience is anyone in the world, because anyone can relate to it even if it's happiness or sadness. I don't think that there is any significance to the video it is just them playing the song and some time there are shots of seattle where the band started. But maybe there is a meaning to it for them. I also intend this audience to be people that like Pearl Jam and all the different meanings behind their songs.

  1. I love this song! My grandma used to play it for me in the car all the time. I never knew the meaning behind the song but that's so true and so interesting!
